Christopher is having a hell of a time this week.
Head hurts.
Wife hates him.
Pitches a fit in the middle of the police station and collapses.
Oh, is accused of stealing his own money.
Which – you know – he did not do. Because we saw Maya and her group do it. Nicole and Ana Clara stole a billion dollars from him.
Bankrupting him, if I have that right.
Which is a crazy amount of money. And a curious thing as well, since Maya specifically said it belonged to us. Did Christopher steal it from you first?
Does is have something to do with the video you all watched?
Would still love some info on that please.
Because clearly, Maya is feeling a type of way about it. I mean, she was sitting there in the corner of their bedroom, just staring at the man while he slept. Dreaming about holding a gun to his head and killing him.
Yikes, dude.
You know, there’s a stereotype of married couples not liking each other, but I think this is taking it too far.
Though, Christopher somehow suspects nothing.
I mean, Maya has not been hiding her disdain for him as well as she did in season one or even earlier in the season. What? Two episodes ago, she’s cringing when he tries to kiss her. Then she’s freaking out because Giovanna is out with another woman.
Won’t even look at him. Won’t pretend that she’s supposed to be completely in love with him. Not Giovanna.
I’m not sure what Christopher did to deserve all this. But I suppose it’s a good thing I’ve never really liked him, or I might start to feel bad for him.
Which I do not.
Enjoy your suffering.
If there was someone in all this, I feel sorry for, it’s Giovanna.
She’s fallen in love with a nutcase. And I mean that in the most loving way possible. I am enjoying this story, regardless of its quirks and faults.
However, no one can deny there’s a certain amount of crazy with Maya.
She married a man she hates to steal his money and essentially torture him. What else do you call that?
Giovanna is just someone getting caught in the middle for all the wrong reasons. Cop on the case. Falling in love with the mastermind of it all.
The mastermind – I think – she doesn’t actually suspect.
I thought for a moment, but now… I think she believes Christopher is actually behind it all.
I think she desperately wanted Maya to say that she wasn’t with Christopher all night. Anything. Something to give her the proof she needs that he’s been faking it all this time.
Which appears to be the change in script Maya wanted, but unfortunately, she hadn’t quite planned for that line of questioning. Instead, she’s holding her jaw as she tries to keep the flimsy change in her plan together.
I mean, it’s not like people were already on edge and annoyed about the slow progress. It’s not like Christopher hasn’t been tossing shit at Giovanna since the moment they met and he refused to acknowledge her or shake her hand. I mean, how could anyone not see this train wreck coming?
You want Giovanna to be the star?
First, you’ve got to stop shitting all over the investigation.
Every time you manage to hide something or sneak off with more money, Giovanna looks worse and worse.
I’m not actually sure that’s how it works in real life. But hey – we’re in a show here and that’s how it is here. No results, must mean you’re complete inept.
Not that you haven’t had enough time.
Or that the mastermind literally knows everyone’s moves because she’s pulling all the strings and listening in everywhere.
She even has a police officer in her pocket.
I truly feel bad for Nicole who is stuck in the middle. Wanting to be a good police officer but also having some sort of understanding with Maya and Ana Clara.
One I don’t understand at all.
Do they have something on you Nicole? Do you love Ana Clara that much? Because this seems extraordinarily hard for you. Except when given an out, you didn’t take it. You insisted that Maya see this through to the end. Until Christopher is behind bars.
Despite the fact that you were crying not ten minutes ago.
Or that earlier in the episode you were tired of being summoned and lying to your coworkers.
What the hell is so important? What did Christopher do? Is anyone going to fill me in?
Because it must be something truly awful to go through all this effort.
Also, Maya I can’t help but think that maybe poor Nicole feels a little slighted that you want to make Giovanna the star of the show, when Nicole has been helping you this entire time. Like – what the hell?
She takes all the risk and you’re going to give the glory to someone else?
I’d be feeling some type of way about that.
Meanwhile, like I said, Giovanna is just sort of stuck in the middle of things trying to understand the situation she’s found herself in. Getting pulled her and there.
Getting yelled at one minute by Maya to leave. Then summoned to her side the next. She must have whiplash.
Then getting tossed off a career-making case turning it into a career-ending one.
She’s had a terrible week. Truly. Or like two days.
Maya certainly isn’t making things easy on her. She accuses her of essentially cheating last episode and then throws her out of the art gallery. This episode she calls and calls. Then when she won’t answer, just drops a bomb into her case to lure her back.
She needs her close.
You need therapy, Maya.
Lots of it.
And a basic understanding of healthy couple communication. Because this? This is not it. This is horrible and while entertaining does not serve a long term anything.
Thus, all ending in the moment at the end where Maya knows that Giovanna is her weakness and will be her downfall if she’s not careful. Only to knock on Giovanna’s door and find the ex there.
Yikes.
I’m sure that will go over well since everyone involved is just so mature.
It’s not like every other interaction these two have had, is like two toddlers fighting over the same toy. I’m sure we can manage a civil and calm discussion.
Yeah, right.
In other news, Larissa full on suspects Nicole is not telling the truth, and she might be the only one doing her actual job. Not sure how we’re blaming Giovanna for the theft when she didn’t steal the money and she wasn’t in town. Time off, I assume was approved by the boss.
Hey, maybe if you want her around and working on the case, don’t approve the vacation time.
Just a thought.
Or you know, don’t hold it against her when something happens while she’s away. Jerk.
Christopher knows he’s being drugged now, but he didn’t say anything to his doctor which is odd in and of itself.
Is the housekeeper in on it too?
Lastly, I think that is a truly beautiful chess set that Maya was demonstrating that a pawn can become a queen. I wonder where they got it.
Okay, I believe that was everything I thought about the episode. Onto the next, I’m sure it’ll be… interesting. To say the least.
