I’m not ready to say goodbye!
Which is good because there’s still one more episode since the finale is broken into two parts.
But… wah!
I don’t want VaLu to go! No!
This episode opens up with Luiza telling the whole world she’s marrying the stupidest person in the world.
Meanwhile, Valentina is just elated that she got Luiza to fall in love with her again.
Which I can’t blame her. In the episode itself, Valentina discusses the morning that Luiza woke up without her memories and if someone went back and told her at that moment that it would be fine. That they would still be together and getting married all over again with another child in their lives, she wouldn’t have believed them.
And frankly I don’t blame her.
I mean, go back to episode one of the entire series.
Luiza woke up without her memories, the last thing she remembered was being dropped off by a smug Valentina who declared that they would be married one day. After getting on her nerves that afternoon by contradicting everything she said and annoying her at the bus stop. She fully despised Valentina when she woke up.
Thought it was some kind of sick joke.
Or a prank.
Only to find out that this was her life.
That they’re married with a young son and are forced to deal with each other.
Except Luiza wanted nothing to do with her wife. Each of them contemplating divorce to ease the situation.
I don’t blame Valentina at all for her introspection and joy at the moment.
How happy she is that they’ve come this far.
So far that Luiza wants the big updo of a wedding. Which I freaking loved by the way.
Valentina offered a small simple thing, like a barbecue to keep it small since it’s a second wedding. They’ve already done the big thing once. They don’t have to do it again.
But Luiza is ready to go all out. She wants the big wedding.
Not only I think because she doesn’t remember the first, but because she wants it to be as special and important as the first.
For Valentina to understand that Luiza is choosing her all over again.
In every way that matters.
I love that she wants to make it a surprise for Valentina and throw a huge wedding for them to share their love with each other and everyone they care about.
It’s absolutely perfect.
And it’s a fitting end to the journey for this couple since they started so far apart when Luiza lost her memory to be able to come full circle and choose each other again is beautiful.
But since Luiza wants to make it a surprise it leads to a humorous moment from Duda who has been tasked with not one, but two surprises happening nearly on top of each other.
I love the look on Valentina’s face as she realizes that Duda is about to have more on her plate than she could handle.
I hope they give her a nice vacation afterward.
Which means that Valentina’s surprise, multi seasons, and years in the making is on. So I wonder what it is that it’s so big!
Catarina being there for Duda was cute too I will add.
I love how close the families are to be honest. Like I love that Igor was there helping pick out cakes and they each liked some and not the others. I didn’t think they were going to agree.
Also, how many people in the world have had a surprise wedding? Men don’t count here because they’re not paying attention when they’re included. Most of the time.
Not all.
Valentina nearly has a meltdown when something she needs isn’t ready. But our new character friend comes to the rescue.
We get a lovely dress choosing sequence. I did enjoy the first dress, not going to lie.
I’m surprised Duda wasn’t back to work yet, but hey to each their own. I’m glad she had the time she needed for herself and her family and her baby. That’s super important.
I loved their little scene too where Igor was trying to be serious and she wasn’t.
Then Leo declares his moms are the most beautiful and they are.
I saw the BTS for when the actresses see each other and it was beautiful as were they. Everyone did an amazing job on the wedding. The setting, the colors, the dresses, the make-up, my goodness. It was perfect for the couple and just downright amazing.
I loved that we got little tidbits from the family.
Luiza’s younger sister has found someone despite not wanting to fall in love. A trend in their family it seems.
Roger and Carol are headed to Italy for work and are enjoying their lives.
Wonderful.
Somehow, Igor and Duda’s child is smaller than Estrela despite nearly being a year older. Eh, who cares though?
The little girl playing Estrela is simply stunning. She looks so much like Valentina it’s amazing. She has such vibrant eyes like the actress playing Valentina it’s stunning.
The family picture that is the tile is amazing too. I love it.
I loved everything about this.
Even the blatant set up for a new series! I don’t know what it will be or what’s happening, but the newest characters who felt far too fleshed out for just joining the series at the end bumped into each other at the end of the aisle.
And stared at each other. Like they knew each other? Or wanted to know each other? Or something.
There is clearly something between them and I’m pretty sure they’ll be the next leads for what Ponto Acao does next.
Can’t wait!
Then the wedding starts and the episode ends.
I’m not ready. I’m really not. I don’t know how to say goodbye to these two and Marina and Kacy in the same year. I’m not ready for any of them to leave. They’re all so good in different ways.
However, everything about this finale is fitting and wonderful for this couple and I’m excited for the last episode while also being sad. So congratulations on the conflicting emotions you’ve evoked in me.
Thanks for reading! Let’s get tissues ready for the next episode!
