Xena Warrior Princess: Warrior… Princess… Tramp… – Review

I was suspicious from the moment that Gabrielle and Xena weren’t on the same page.

But I was confused as to why Diana might do something like that.

Then… there was a third.

Meg.

3 people who look like Xena.

I love that this show doesn’t feel the need to explain things or even make sense. There’s three of them, just go with it.

Also, I feel like in the middle Lucy Lawless and Ted Raimi were having a contest to see who could overact and be goofballs more. Like I want all the bloopers for this episode because much as I’m not entertained by Joxer, I do like Ted Raimi.

It’s conflicting. Yes.

But I’m watching this, and I love that Lucy Lawless makes the differences so obvious between them sometimes that I could easily identify which was which. Kudos to Lucy for a fantastic portrayal playing three wildly different characters and making them each believable in their own right.

She’s amazing.

Her interest in Joxer left little to be desired. But it was entertaining to watch.

Poor Gabrielle was wildly confused and I was confused too.

I mean, I wouldn’t think my friend wasn’t my friend, but given how close they are, and how odd it was to be locked in the dungeon – I would have had questions.

Although, I did like Gabrielle trying to attack the real Xena because it wasn’t going to go well.

Funny nonetheless.

This entire episode was chaotic and crazy and a wonderful break that was the last episode which was pretty heavy given the death and Callisto content. Not to mention Gabrielle’s temporary break of insanity when she decided she wanted to kill someone.

Something wildly out of character for her.

This episode was a welcome reprieve as someone tries to steal the crown using Xena and Diana as cover and pawns.

Also, that guy who declared Xena would never make it to the castle is a complete idiot.

Are you kidding me?

Did you send an army? You’re going to need an army to take her out!

More than a handful of idiots that’s for damn sure.

Joxer getting thrown around was hilarious to me and quite possibly my favorite part. That and Xena knowing she was waiting at the kitchen door at the end.

I love that the king lived. But I’m super confused. Was he faking his illness? They were all convinced he was on death’s door. That a chill at the wrong time could kill him and then suddenly he’s up and requesting spicy food?

Was the man ever ill?

That was a miracle recovery. Damn.

I want what he’s having.

Then Meg gets a new job.

Diana gets her child back.

Her husband is clueless the entire time.

I love that he was so smart to figure Xena out the first time, but this time, he’s all confused about the baby and where it was and who has the baby. Like, don’t you know?

If your wife didn’t have the baby and you’re not the ruling power here, what were you doing?

Curling your hair?

It was hilarious to see him so confused.

All the time.

He didn’t have a damn clue.

No one did really.

Except Xena who was like something weird is going on, there must be another imposter! I’ll get right to the bottom of this!

Meanwhile, everyone else is confused by Xena being weird or Diana or anything going on the castle.

Honestly, the least secure castle in the world. Apparently.

It’s like Star Labs on Flash.

Everyone can just walk into no matter what.

Alas, the episode was entertaining, but I missed Xena and Gabrielle’s time together.

It’s the highlight of any episode for me really.

Overall, an amazing episode and I can’t wait for the next one!
