Welp, the third episode of Alert dropped.
Jay, you’re killing me.
Although, that was a solid tackle at the end there, I’ll give you that.
Any who…
Nikki continues to be my favorite alongside Kemi who rubbed some eggs together to help bring Zoey home safely.
I’m certain without even looking someone is complaining about something being too on the nose or other things that don’t line up perfectly.
Here’s the thing about plot holes – I don’t care.
I don’t even remember them right now.
I care about the characters.
What is Sydney hiding? How is she so certain that’s not Keith?
That’s totally not Keith.
What’s his endgame?
Did he swap out the baby hair? I would’ve swapped the baby hair from the photo album with my own if I know I’m not really Keith so if they do get any bright ideas to test it, it won’t matter.
What happened to June? Did Jay try to fix things with her or did he give up?
Why was he so quick to say to a lock on her door? I figured he would be the one who wouldn’t want to the lock, not Nikki. Alas, here we are and I like that oddness.
I love that they talk and discuss and they come to an agreement together about their kids without it becoming world war III.
It’s funny that it bothers Sydney so much.
What do the eggs have to do with anything? What about the rubbing brings someone home safely?
I’m not mocking! I’m genuinely curious!
I’m a thousand precent sure Mike there, if you don’t get a grip on your own insecurities that will be what drives Nikki away, not Jay. Because she’s in this with you, even though you don’t seem to see it. And the tighter you hold something…
I don’t recommend it.
Also, I liked Kemi being all ‘Team Mike.’
Although, I laughed and was like, ‘I think Jay is Team Mike too, so it doesn’t matter.’
Because he is. He truly likes Mike, they work well together and Jay has no toxic BS about him being around him or the kids or anything. He even told Nikki she was marrying way up with Mike!
I love working on healthy relationships.
It’s not perfect, but everyone is trying their damn best to get through life without making it harder on family.
I loved Jay’s speech to the other father. He wants everyone to be relieved. I didn’t like him wanting to get the guy an easier time.
He shot someone.
His daughter was safe, the guy was going to prison, and he kept going. That wasn’t protection, that was revenge, and it wasn’t okay. He should deal with the consequences of his actions.
And it isn’t up to Jay.
I appreciate Jay and Nikki trying to talk him down, but I really want her calm and cooler demeanor when dealing with terrible people to rub off on Jay.
Overall, not a bad character episode.
I did enjoy the little moment between mother and daughter when Sydney thanked her for believing her.
I’m not sure what the endgame is here, but we shall see.
As always, thank you for reading!
