My, oh, my. These two.
I know, as I said before my decision to put NYSSARA on the bottom of the list was due to lack of screen time. Bo and Lauren don’t fit the bill, so why are the next up?
Well, Bo and Lauren made a terrible couple the first time around. And the second. And the third.
Now, before anyone yells at me I love these two to pieces. Their issues as a couple is what made them so interesting to watch. I’m not really a big fan of the break up and get back together thing at all.
Their last break up in the 5th season was one too many for me. I was coping with it before.
Truthfully, all of Lauren and Bo’s problems in every one of their attempts to couple up was a lack of communication. Lauren never confronted Bo with how uncomfortable it made her that she needed more then just the doctor to survive. Lauren felt she would never be enough. She also never confronted Bo about why she kissed Tamsin and not to feed.
Bo herself never paid close enough attention. Before they became a couple Bo was laser focused on Lauren’s needs, how she was feeling, and was a major confidant. Which evaporated as soon as they got together in season three. Bo started taking her for granted.
Then came season five where they tried once more to get something going. Bo, to her credit, was present and trying because she wanted it to work.
The two of them had a nasty habit of confronting their problems outside their relationship. They’d let things fester and get worse until they exploded. They needed to talk.
However, they had their good points too. Aside from the lies, cheating, and lack of communication in their relationship they were good for each other too.
Bo often pushed Lauren to be more then just something to be owned. She renewed Lauren’s faith in being more then something the Ash owned. She also was a steady presence in Lauren’s life.
Lauren spent most of her time taking care of everyone else. Always being a doctor.
Bo reminded her to be human. To rest, to worry about her own needs, and put herself first every once and a while.
Lauren understood Bo. Something Bo greatly desired. Something she received from both Kenzi and Lauren. They pushed Bo to be the best version of herself. Lauren was a steadfast believer in Bo’s ability to keep everyone safe, to save the day, and to maintain control of herself. Something Bo needed because she often didn’t believe herself.
One the best pieces to their relationship was always being there. Even when they were no longer together they never hesitated when coming to the other’s aide. Never thought about doing anything differently.
They found a family together.
Something they were both sorely lacking.
Often in places they had no expected. Such as with Dyson. Someone I’m sure Lauren believed she’d ever get along with.
They had so many ups and downs over the years. Moments it seemed they would never find their way together or back to each other. There were moments it seemed like they gave up on being together but fate always seemed to have another idea.
Because no matter how hard they tried or didn’t try too, they always found themselves together, in each other’s arms.
Aside from fate pushing them together one of the reasons I love this couple is the fact this show decided to end it all with them choosing each other.
Not many shows have the guts to end with their female lead in the arms of another female. Kudos to Emily for taking a leap and giving the fans what they wanted.

Seeing their favorite couple riding off into the sunset together, trying to make it work despite all odds. Seriously? Who want to see that?
Love is love, and these women have it in spades.
Over the five seasons I watched them (because I binged on Netflix) I loved every moment they were on screen. I rooted for them. I cried with them. I want to smack them.
But after all that, I got to watch the happily ever after I wanted.
So, here’s to Bo and Lauren wherever you guys are, I hope you’re together and happy!
Let me know what you guys think about these two ladies!
Read on and spread the love!
