The beginning and end of this episode were tough to watch.
Luiza learns about her lost pregnancy and deals with the fact that Valentina lied or omitted what happened.
I – honestly, like Luiza – understand Valentina’s choice.
I wouldn’t be able to tell my wife such a tragedy occurred. I wouldn’t want to give her that pain back. I wouldn’t blame Valentina either.
Which was a relief when Luiza decided to forgive her wife and move forward.
It was heart wrenching to listen to Luiza discuss her loss, see how guilty, and how awful it is for her. Especially, since she’s experiencing the past, again.
Then as this series does, it moved right along.
I didn’t say this in the previous post, but I love the new opening too. It fits where we’re at in the story now, given that they have chosen to be together again. The opening reflects that.
And we moved right into Jealous!Valentina.
Um, excuse me? Who gave either of you the right to be so damn adorable together?
Seriously, the scene was a sweet moment.
Even with jealousy.
Because Valentina might not know exactly where they stand. Are they married? Fully committed to each other? Have we discussed it? Is there a chance you could leave for someone else?
I imagine lots of those thoughts are running through her mind since Luiza doesn’t remember their marriage. Sure, she’s attracted to her, and they’ve slept together.
But does she want anyone else? Has she noticed others? Have things changed?
She’s insecure, and it’s cute.
Luiza is quick to shut it all down and kiss her wife to make her feel better.
I love the moment.
What I don’t love in Valentina’s mother.
How do any of them put up with her? I would have thrown her out of my life long ago. There’s no need for that kind of person in one’s life.
Nope. She’s gots to go.
How does Marcus stay married to her?
Yeesh.
The car scene was perfect. I totally get that feeling of not being able to drive after a wreck. Things change. It seems way scarier than it did before.
And I love that Valentina doesn’t push or insist they keep trying today.
She offers it at some point when Luiza is ready. But when, matters not. It’s a sweet scene.
And Reis does a great job portraying the nerves as she grips the steering wheel, unable to move out of the driveway. It’s stellar.
Video games.
A very silly scene that oddly lasts ten seconds, I could have watched more. Please! Give me all the Valentina and Leo banter while Luiza rolls her eyes.
Now, one thing I didn’t like was what Valentina said.
Not because it isn’t romantic.
It’s totally foreshadowing something.
Who is she going to lose? What? Leo or Luiza? What is that line telling us? I don’t like it.
This is a soapy type drama. Something is going to happen! I know it! Mark my typed words here.
The flashback was a sweet scene. I love that they have never been able to keep their hands off each other. I love that they’ve worked through all their issues and that Valentina doesn’t sugarcoat it when talking to Luiza.
She never says that their relationship was perfect or always happy. Instead, she says they were ‘always together.’ In spite or despite of the hard times.
Valentina even says they’ve had ups and downs like all relationship but they work through it because they love each other. They want to build a life.
I think that’s so important.
Not only to the story, but to the world to see a happy loving relationship isn’t perfect.
Things haven’t always been happily ever after. But it’s okay. They had each other and they held on through the hard times. They made it to this moment. And they’ll face down all the tough moments in the future together.
This is why I never think once a couple is together that it’s boring.
Because life doesn’t stop because you found your person.
Bad stuff still happens.
They’ve lost babies. Valentina has a terrible mother. Luiza lost her memory.
I love this series.
And I can’t help but wonder what on Earth was on that note that reduced Luiza to such tears.
No matter what, that scene is hard to watch. Reis puts her whole soul into that moment, and I felt it. I feel the sadness coming off her. I feel like a piece of her broke reading whatever that was.
It hurt.
Congrats Reis. I felt it through the screen.
Ouch.
Whew.
