Is that Grodd?
I can’t tell.
Either way, the talking gorilla is gay! What a lovely surprise! Loved that addition.
Jimmy almost getting killed but not getting killed because the gorilla took a liking to him was amazing. I loved that.
Two seconds from cutting him up and the gorilla is all, but honey. He’s a sweet kid! Let’s keep him!
Jimmy was adopted by this nice old gay couple. How sweet.
This entire thing was adorable and cute. I loved it so much. Especially, Jimmy getting a chance to voice his feelings. He’s been sort of neglected by Clark and Lois getting wrapped up in their own world.
I was so happy to see someone take him seriously and validate his feelings.
As for Clark and Lois, I’m glad they noticed!
Too often supposed ‘good friends’ in TV shows don’t notice when they’ve made a mistake or missed their friend.
Here we see Clark and Lois realize they missed their friend camping trip and are scrambling to catch up to him. I loved that little detail.
Especially since Lois and Clark set aside their differences to find their friend when they realized he was missing.
It was a nice switch.
Because it does show that Lois and Clark are trying to be good friends. They’ve just hit a stumbling block. They made a mistake. A very human mistake. An error in a friendship.
That little detail may have been my favorite because it does show Jimmy isn’t the third wheel.
They really love him.
They care about him.
And yes, they got catch up. But who hasn’t done something foolish like that and gotten caught up in their own stuff? Missed their friends’ crisis?
Then we have Lois and Clark.
Who are trying to find their best friend while coping with their issues.
Um, coping. Right sure.
Clark spends most of his time avoiding the conversation.
Lois wants answers.
And they’re both freaked over Jimmy having gone missing.
Of course, we can’t forget the killer robots.
Yeesh.
What a stressful camping trip.
I loved Clark jumping in front of the bullets. “I just knew you weren’t.”
That was such a great line. Whoever wrote it should be proud of themselves. I enjoyed that scene.
I also enjoyed the scene where the three of them were arguing outside and then inside. They were raw and emotional. Felt like real friends fighting.
But the scene inside was so perfectly touching.
It cut to the heart of Clark Kent.
He wants to be loved for who he is. He doesn’t want to be treated like an alien. Clark wants to be loved.
In most of Lara Jor-El’s storylines, her main concern is for her son’s emotional wellbeing, and wonders who will love him on his new planet.
Whereas Jor-El points out that he will look human, and their weapons won’t hurt him.
His mother, Lara worries for his loneliness. Who will love him? Or are they dooming him to feel alone forever?
It’s why I love the stories that put a focus on what she wants for her son. To be loved.
Here, we see that unconditional sort of love.
Jimmy and Lois don’t care whether he flies or has heat vision. They love Clark. Each of them were drawn to him because he’s a nice guy who wants to be there for people. Help the world with a pen, by doing the right thing.
Something they all have in common.
It also cuts to the core of why these three are always around each other.
They all choose to help the world with their professions.
They want the truth.
But they also want to be respected and appreciated for who they are.
I love this show.
It nails essential pieces of their characters.
I also loved the chaos of the show.
Let’s open a blackhole!
‘Ask the mad scientists!’
I couldn’t stop laughing throughout the episode. There were emotional moments, goofy moments, and happy moments. This show is amazing and I can’t wait to see what happens next!
Spread the love and read on!
