These two are screwed.

I don’t mean by each other, necessarily. I mean, they’re more than welcome to do that as well. But I really mean that their own emotions are going to get the best of them.

Maya gives the sense that even though Giovanna is unexpected in her life, doesn’t mean it messes with her plans. Because she very clearly has some sort of plans.

I’m not sure what they are.

But they do appear to be more than trying to sleep with the pretty police officer trying to solve her husband’s case.

Which of course is super conflicting.

Because at times Maya appears to be the loving wife. Like when she discovers Christopher was punched in the face. She actually appeared concerned for his well-being.

So I’m confused.

Does she care about him? Is she using him? Is she using him until a certain point and can’t risk him getting punched in the face before it’s time or something? Like?

I have so many questions and not enough answers.

And then there’s Giovanna desperately trying to focus on her work.

On the case.

On anything besides Maya.

Like the AC. The window. Her name.

Except she can’t.

Because this woman is stepping into her space. Flaunting their attraction to one another, their night together.

Out in plain sight at times.

Also, I love how everyone at the police station appears to suspect that Giovanna is attracted to or taken by this mysterious woman. But they continue to leave her alone with Maya like that’s not going to cause a problem.

Like no!

If you suspect she can’t keep her focus, leaving them alone together is not going to help!

Trust me. They’ve already slept together, it didn’t appear to relieve the tension.

In fact, it might have served to make it worse.

Also, did anyone else catch the reference to a prior series and piece of work written by the same author who wrote this series?

The Stripper.

As Maya puts it, this is not that fanfic.

She’s not hiding that she’s a stripper.

But she is for sure hiding something.

It’s also curious that Maya’s best friend appears to know all about their tryst in another city that night. Something Maya doesn’t appear ashamed of or that she’s even hiding.

Except from maybe her husband.

I don’t know. Maybe she told him too and he’s just more possessive than before because of it.

Or maybe he’s an idiot who doesn’t know his wife is cheating and flirting with other people at every turn. Sometimes, behind his back in a literal way.

Then there’s lots of paperwork.

Maya’s best friend whose name escapes me is up to something.

But is she up to something on her own? Or was she put up to it by someone? By Maya? By Christopher? Herself?

What is happening?

Everyone has secrets around here.

Especially Christopher and Maya.

As some random dude appears at Enterprise and punches Christopher in the face. Everyone seems to know him, but no one wants to say anything about what happened. Instead, he’s escorted out. Christopher licks his wounds and Giovanna files the information away for later.

At the very end, Christopher has asked the police for a favor outside their purview but the guy in charge insists. With Maya in the room while Giovanna refuses.

Because apparently, Maya is pulling all the strings here.

And Giovanna doesn’t like it.

Damn.

Maya clearly doesn’t mind just getting her husband to do something to get her closer to the woman she’s clearly trying to seduce. Like damn. That’s some top tier cold level manipulation there! Damn!

I wonder what the hell is going to happen next!
