Stupid Wife 3×08 PT. 2 – Review

I’m not ready for it to end!

No!

No!

I also don’t have enough tissues for this episode!

My goodness, they set out to kill us with this one.

Overall, this episode wraps the entire series up perfectly.

They choose each other all over again. This vow renewal cements everything that they’ve gone through since the start of the series.

In college, these two fell for each other. Flaws and all.

They built a life together with sweat and pride and hard work. They loved each other. Bought a house together. Had a child. Survived terrible tragedies together.

Only for fate to step in to help them heal from the worst of them all.

Life took away all of Luiza’s memories of their life together. All the choices that brought them to their first marriage. To the first child. To their home. To their jobs. To their everything.

Rocking them both so deeply, it seemed like they might not recover from the loss.

To the point where each considered divorce.

To the point where it seemed like the memory loss and even the memories themselves would tear them apart.

Except it didn’t.

Back to the start of the series in episode two when Luiza read the quote that if two people are meant to be together, nothing will be able to keep them apart. They are the living proof of it.

Even through the memory loss, they were drawn to each other.

They found their person in each other.

The one they run to when horrible things happen. The one who brings them comfort and solace when the rest of the world threatens their family. They choose to become a team once more.

To face down life and all it’s challenges together.

Luiza started the series off wondering how she could possibly love Valentina. And ended it promising never to let her go. To never love anyone else. To love her forever through all of the terrible and wonderful things in life.

They walked down memory lane together through Valentina’s surprise.

Where she placed all the wonderful moments of their lives on display to show the world how much she loves her wife.

How they will always find each other.

Annoy each other.

Be there for each other.

Treasure each other.

Because they have for so long. Even if Luiza wonders how she managed to fall in love with Valentina when she was at her most irritating. Though Valentina claims it was all to get her attention.

They reminisce about how the greatest gifts each has given the other is their children.

How precious both Leo and Estrela are to them.

Their vows to each other were absolutely perfect and need no review. Honestly. They were so perfect to each character and their love for one another. It was perfect.

The moment in the gallery was amazing and sweet.

As they let their chemistry out in full force for all the world to see.

It’s amazing how simple it was for them to react to the pictures and realistic it was.

They cried. They bickered. They teased. They loved each other. They swooned over their history together.

But more importantly, they swooned over their future together.

Throughout the entire episode, it doesn’t feel like an ending.

It feels like a goodbye for now.

Valentina and Luiza still have so much life left to live together. There could be more children. There will be more career building. There will be more love and life and joy and heartbreak and who knows what else.

The only thing either of them is certain about, is that they’ll face it together. They’re going to be together until they die.

In happiness. In sickness.

In everything.

I love this way of storytelling. Because no one’s story ever stops. We may not see it every week anymore. We may never see these two together again as Valentina and Luiza. But we get to know that they’re out there somewhere, living their best lives together.

They’ll be taking pictures. Dancing. Playing with their kids. And super horny for each other no matter how much time passes.

And most of all, we know that no matter what life throws at them, they’ll always find their way to be together.

Obnoxious and differing viewpoints. Memory loss. Miscarriages. Family issues. Children. None of it will keep them apart.

They’ve overcome so much to be together and this episode celebrates that history, but it also celebrates the future they have yet to live.

There is still more life to unfold before them. They’ve barely scratched the surface.

And they’ll see it through together.

Stronger now than when they started. Even before Luiza lost her memory.

Because now, they both know, beyond a shadow out of doubt that there’s no else for either of them.

No one else will ever love them like each other does.

No one else could compare.

And most importantly, they don’t want anyone else.

VaLu everyone!

I’m in awe of this series, I love it so much. The end made me tear up, it did. I’m not ready to say goodbye to either of these characters.

But I’ll be rewatching this series for a long time to come.
