Vigil 2×05 – Review

Things get worse.

I love that Amy sticks to her guns about the investigation.

Everything about it stinks.

There’s not a single aspect that doesn’t seem right. Except all the innocent people caught in the crossfire.

Like Amy. Like Kristen. Those people who died. A pilot who rots in jail for trying to tell the truth. Or the pilot feeling conflicted.

None of it is a fair position to be in.

And by the end of the episode, I’m more convinced than ever that Eliza is dirty. She’s in on this BS.

She killed that guy to keep him quiet.

Nothing about that ending seemed right. Not a single thing. Not even in the slightest.

And I’m sure it won’t take Amy long to figure it out.

I’m also just going to say that Amy is a badass. Her fight and ability to get the tech to listen to her. Only to nearly get shot by a guy who is clearly not who we thought him to be.

But honestly, no one is here.

It seems like everyone is involved that has any kind of power.

Eliza.

Dougray Scott’s character.

The tech.

The MI5 guy.

They’re all playing some BS game and they were willing to let people die over it. A war? Money? Power?

It doesn’t matter. It’s all wrong.

And Amy is determined to prove it.

As she refuses to return home to her family because the job isn’t finished.

The conversation between her and Kristen was amazing. Because as a couple they want to be together. They want to be with each other. After everything they’ve gone through, they want that comfort.

But they both know, they can’t.

They have to choose to do the right thing.

Stop the bad guys.

So Amy and Kristen continue their investigation.

Amy even convinces the conflicted pilot to listen to her and give her the drive. Even help her out. Turning out to be an honorable guy. So much so, I’m actually annoyed with myself for thinking ill of him when he appeared in the first episode.

Sorry Baker.

You’re actually a nice dude. So is your boyfriend, who does not deserve what he’s getting.

Yes, breaking into the base was a million percent wrong. But trying to prove the innocence of people is worth something. Punishment should be dealt but not so severely.

Then we’re off to the UK.

And I can’t help but wonder what’s going to happen now?

There’s one episode left and I’m wondering what else could possibly go wrong here.

I know this is short, but I can’t wait to watch the next episode!
