‘No one messes with the special investigators!’
Shit. Welp, whoever did is totally screwed. Yikes.
Also, my initials are AM. I did not toss that guy from the helicopter, Reacher, I swear.
I also hope against hope that he was dead before he was tossed out of the helicopter because he did not look like he was alive while falling. But if he was, ouch that had to hurt like hell. And also be terrifying. So scary. Yikes.
Well, Reacher returned with season two!
I’ve seen plenty of mixed reviews on this season, but this episode pulled no punches.
At first, I’ll be honest, I thought it was weird that Neagley was so quick to pull the trigger when no one was answering her calls.
Honestly, I was going by her relationship to Reacher. She had to resort to hacking his bank account to get his attention. I assumed all of their relationships in the 110th were like that.
By the end of the episode, I was convinced much differently.
Clearly, they answer when she calls.
As a second came running when he got the message.
And if someone is targeting the 110th, I think they’re completely out of their mind.
Just look at the beast of a man who recruited them all in the first place.
Not to mention, got them into a fight on day one together. I for sure thought he set that whole thing up as a team building exercise. It worked. And was a very Reacher thing to do.
He was not going to make them sit down and share their feelings or play get-to-know-you games.
No, a bar fight is a quick and dirty way to get them together and on the same page. Forcing them to defend each other on principle against assholes is easily a great bonding tool.
Of course, having them all be outnumbered, yet still win, goes to show how good they are.
And they hadn’t truly sealed that bond yet.
It started. They came up with their slogan. They beat up people together. Drank together. Sang together. Got to know each other.
But it’s different in present day.
They went through hell and back. You know that. You can feel it in their actions. How easily they come together when something is wrong. When one of them is hurt or missing or killed.
You can see it in the easy bond Neagley has with Reacher.
She came when he called in season one. No questions, no nothing. He was in trouble and she showed up. Just like that.
Same goes for everyone in the 110th.
That bond is bigger now, deeper.
A little boy lost his dad. A woman lost her husband. And there may be more victims. This will not go unpunished.
I thought the people who killed Joe were stupid. These guys even more so. Because I could have sworn I saw list from one of the guys following them that had their names on it. Not the cop.
Which means you had to do some background even if the 110th was not the target.
Clearly, you did not do enough.
I would not want these people coming after me.
So far, I love everything about the team. Even how they were choosing passwords for their fallen friend. Going through everything they know about him. How certain they were of all their answers, right until they picked out Reacher.
The bond even clearer in that moment.
They knew him.
His favorite things. His favorite people. How he idolizes things.
I don’t care what anyone else thinks. This is shaping up to be a delightful season and I’m so curious to find out who was dumb enough to mess with the Special Investigators.
