Lucy is back! (Sort of) Don’t ruin this for me with little details!
AJ was arrested!
Someone tried to kill Kai who wasn’t AJ! And the characters didn’t seem to notice…?
I love this show! *le sigh*
Okay, first things first!
Who else wants to drool over Kate’s outfit at the beginning of the episode?
I mean, blue is my favorite color and I’m normally all for Kate in the blue outfits, but this one… Whew. Sorry, bit distracted there.
Uh, costume designer? More red please! More red with Lucy actually able to see her.
Who else wants to see a repeat of the beach scene with Lucy drooling over her?
Me! Thank you.
Anyway, after I picked my jaw up off the floor and was able to watch the scene, it was so adorable. I loved Kate trying to reassure Lucy that she is useful while also reminding her she didn’t just take the job because it was ‘interesting.’
The growth of being able to talk about hard things without it being the end of the world is amazing!
Lucy reassuring Kate that they are in a much better place now was so wonderful.
Each of them admitting that they missed each other.
So sweet.
Relationships cannot survive on sex and passion alone. It helps, don’t mistake what I’m saying here.
But you have to like the other person.
You have to be able to waste away the time talking about your day on the phone. You have to be able to tell each other the hard things. The fun things. You have to be whole alone and come together to be better than ever.
This scene was a great moment to prove that they may have come together in a three-day stand filled with passion, but the real test is maintaining that relationship with an ocean between them.
I adored Kate’s voice at the end too.
Lucy picks up the phone and tells her things are good. And Kate, so cheerfully and happy for her girlfriend insists she tell her everything.
You can hear the pride, the happiness, the joy, that Lucy was enjoying herself in Kate’s voice.
As the audience we don’t even need to see her to know she’s smiling.
Lucy doesn’t even have to look at the phone to know it’s Kate calling her. Whether they have set times or she’s the only one with the number. It was perfect that after solving her first case alone, Kate was there to cheer her on.
It’s been nice watching Kate grow without Lucy.
And in this episode, we got to see Lucy grow without Kate.
As for the stuff that happened between the gay stuff.
Lucy’s case was awesome.
It was a simple elegant case that allowed her to stretch her wings and gain some confidence in herself. She doesn’t have Jesse or Tennant’s experience to bail her out. She doesn’t have back-up in Kai.
She calls the shots.
She has to develop her Lucy-sense.
And she nailed it.
Lucy trusted herself to keep looking. To keep searching for the truth because something wasn’t right.
Like Kate, I’m so proud of her.
As for what happened on the island.
AJ was arrested, but somehow his confusion at all the people dying and someone trying to kill Kai unsettled me.
Because… if he wasn’t behind that – who is?
Why would someone else want Kai dead? What is happening? Is AJ actually just a really small fish who was just money laundering?
What is happening?
Did the team catch that?
I hope so!
Also, if I were Tennant in this episode, I would have tied Kai down somewhere for his own good.
Her entrance to save Kai was badass though, so maybe it was worth it.
Did anyone else enjoy the scene in the war room with Jesse getting all jealous that Lucy doesn’t video chat him?
It’s so sweet how much he loves her.
Then there was Tennant’s face. It was the epitome of done Mom look.
All the actors on this show are amazing.
Also, does anyone else think that they’re setting up Commander Chase and Ernie even more now that he admitted he’s jealous his ex found someone and he’s still alone?
Please! Please, set them up!
This would make me so happy!
I do love this show.
I love that they try to do the right thing. Kai was upset someone tried to kill him and is worried avout his family. He wasn’t thinking about evidence or proof.
But everyone around him focused on gathering facts when he couldn’t. They tried to keep him from choosing to do the wrong thing.
This is where I love Kate’s rule orientated attitude. She can’t and won’t act without proof.
Otherwise, she’s the bad guy.
Tennant too.
As always, I commend the show for another awesome episode!
However, please bring Lucy back full time! Gah, I miss her!
