Maybe I should stop expecting this to be a good police drama.
Maybe I should stop expecting the show to make sense…?
Mike confused me. He wants Nikki to wear the ring, but he’s the one who took it back. Was she supposed to stop him? Make some grand gesture? What was he hoping for? Nikki and the audience are not mind readers, express yourself man!
He also wants her to tell her children but on the night they planned, he’s the one who stopped it.
I’m not saying he didn’t have his reason or that they weren’t justified. But he’s terrified of losing her to Jay or in general, and that decision to put off the announcement had nothing to do with either.
Very confusing.
But then again so are people.
Like Nikki, for example of confusion.
She loves Jay. That’s crystal clear. He’s the father of her children, they had a whole life together that just ended. It wasn’t forever.
Simple. Clear.
Mostly.
But in this episode she didn’t express a bit of fear for his safety.
At all.
Like what?
Nikki, the man you once promised to spend your entire life with, who you committed to having two kids with, is in the same peril as your current fiancée. You’re not worried?
Like at all?
Nothing?
Gunfire and a disconnected phone and you only call out for Mike?
Now, don’t get me wrong. I like Mike. He’s confusing and insecure, but he’s not a bad guy or anything. He has flaws like everyone else on the show.
But I something on behalf of Jay.
Jeez. Like that was cold, Nikki.
As for the relationship between Mike and Nikki, can we take a break from all the insecurity?
Overall, in tv shows I’m done with the whole drama for drama sake. If it makes sense or works, I’m all for it. But this is ridiculous.
I can’t tell if we’re supposed to root for Mike or Jay or what the hell I’m supposed to think about the three of them sometimes.
If Nikki has chosen Mike, let her choose Mike. Let them be. Let them breathe. Trust me, with Keith and Sydney I’m sure there’s plenty more drama to be had.
Speaking of which, who is the kid from the lake? Is it Keith?
We know it’s boy now. What do you all think?
Is it Keith?
Who was texting the claiming to be Keith? Who was in the car? Did they let him go? Or did he escape? Why is he so scared?
When will we get answers?
Also, Kemi.
You disappoint me, abusing your power.
Not that the other guy isn’t too. But for those who have forgotten (hint: the police themselves) the police are supposed to be the good guys who follow the rules, not abuse their power like the bad guys.
Also, how screwed up is it that, that guy was at her father’s party?
Are we hoping that her father was keeping her out because he was there and is trying to protect her?
Or am I giving him too much credit and Kemi’s father is the worst?
Who knows anymore?
At this point, I’m curious to see where this wild trainwreck leads.
