Okay, okay, okay, okay, hear me out.

I have selected this couple this year since not only have I recently discovered them due to my girlfriend’s obsession and my subsequent obsession but also because I have discovered that they have been responsible for so many bi awakenings.

I think for that alone they should be given an honorary place upon this list. Do you disagree with me?

After all, how many people out their discovered something about themselves because of these two? Not to mention, I think both characters would find it an honor to help people discover themselves.

That’s my reasoning.

Not to mention, this is one of the healthiest straight ships I’ve seen in a long time, and it came from the 90s. Why was everything in the 90s just so good?

When I watched it for the first time and saw Rick kiss Evie without her permission, I was irritated. I’m like ‘here we go’ another asshole.

Then he turned out not to be an ass.

He just sort of did it because he thought he was going to die and isn’t actually a jerk. Which is kind of fair, I’d lose much shit thinking I was going to die too. Doesn’t make it right, but he does attempt to make it right throughout the movie by proving that he is very much a good man.

He just had a moment of insanity.

Which again, he was dying. So, his reasoning for his irrationality is pretty damn good honestly.

These two are adorable throughout the movie. Evie is constantly nerding out over the whole thing and Rick is just listening intently as she describes or explains things. He’s fascinated just listening to her talk about anything.

Even how they rip out mummy brains.

They’re stupidly attracted to each other and completely terrible about it.

I think another reason they firmly belong on the list is the fact that they are disasters. She falls asleep while trying to kiss him for real. He steals tools for her to use and then awkwardly hands them to her.

He’s willingly to put his ass on the line constantly to save her life after meeting her three days ago. Like they were u-hauling here. He proudly stands up to make a cool suave joke after saving her life only to be immediately interrupted and nearly die. She can’t stop thinking about the terrible kiss they had.

While also being supremely irritated with herself.

Despite being half in love with him, she’s more than willing to scream at him like they’ve been married for 50 years.

They so queered coded that it’s hilarious to me. But I love it as well.

Because it does genuinely feel like two bisexuals who happened to fall in love with someone of the opposite gender. But they still have all the gay tendencies. Can’t quite express themselves through words but their actions indicate they’ve been together since the dawn of time and will be together until the world implodes and good luck to anyone who tries to get between them.

I love it.

For that, and all the bi awakenings they caused. Hell, I’m sure they each had some people questioning themselves regardless. I think they have more than earned a spot on the Pride Couple list!
