Critical Role is always a gift to the LGBTQ plus community!

Beau and Yasha are the first couple I really had any knowledge of from this show. At first, considering how long the episodes were, I initially wanted nothing to do with them. However, my own girlfriend loved Critical Role and got me interested in watching it.

I started with Campaign Two and I fell in love with these two awkward ladies.

Seriously, going back and watching some of their early interactions they are horribly awkward with each other, yet completely adorable as well.

Each of their tragic backstories are amazing and I am so looking forward to seeing how things play out between them in the TV show on Prime. I also just love Marisha and Ashley.

Everyone at that original table just has such amazing chemistry. Which is part of the reason, I’m really struggling to get into Campaign 4 with all the new faces. They just don’t hit like the original cast members do and it’s a struggle for me. Though, I hope the campaign is doing really well!

I just miss the original group.

Regardless, we get to see them playing off each other in the TV series, The Mighty Nein. Which has changed a few things to make it work as a show. Not complaining about most of the changes except that it seems Yasha and Molly are not friends when the series starts. That saddens me greatly since his death is just so hard for her in the campaign. I hope they flesh out that friendship before he dies in show.

In the show, they’ve made Yasha about a million times more terrifying than she was in the campaign. Which – I admit – is saying something.

She’s like poop your pants scary here.

She straight up crushed some woman’s head.

Then the final scene of her just asking The Mighty Nein for help after snapping out of her mind-controlled haze right after just murdering everyone. So good! So, so, so good.

This couple was a huge highlight for me in the campaign because I loved the slow burn of it all. As Beau and Yasha learned to open up to the world again. To friends, love, and each other.

They were both so closed off when the campaign starts. It’s so much fun to watch them open up and joke with each other while also just making out whenever they possibly can. The utter ridiculous moments between them and around them as well.

Like when they both just start shimmying into a space that does not require it. Kissing each other with the static shock in the air.

Yasha just constantly misunderstanding how to use the message spell.

Reading each other’s minds.

The first date that is just absolutely amazingly done. Not only by everything Marisha requested and effort she put in, but by Caleb and Liam as well who made the whole thing come to life for them. While also adding a bit of his own flare. Including changing the stain glass window so they’re holding hands now.

The matching robes.

The delight everyone took in them finally getting together. So much so they were willing to stay in a shitty inn so they could have a night alone in the tower.

Veth getting the flower for Beau to give to Yasha. Beau getting a bowtie. Yasha being horribly concerned that if anyone gets in her head, they could use Beau against her. The guilt she still carries for nearly killing Beau.

All of the freaking fights between these two. And the fact that Marisha counted them all to make a point!

Laura screaming about ‘why are you always fighting?!’

‘We just have so much passion!’

‘Unless you take it all for love.’

‘I love you. Also fuck you.’

So many wonderful moments brought to life by this amazing cast who put so much thought and effort and care into their characters. To their wants, needs, and desires. How as friends they bring these characters to life and make them real to us. To each other.

Beau’s speech to Yasha’s late wife still gets me every time when she tells Zuala that what she sacrificed made her the luckiest woman in the world. That she thanks her for it. And honors the woman who came before her. Never belittling the sacrifice she made to be with Yasha.

While also firmly understanding the importance of this woman in Yasha’s life. She will be forever loved and missed no matter how many years go by. And I think Beau who couldn’t have made space for that at the start of the campaign does an amazing job of being there for Yasha at the end of the campaign. Always picking flowers and bringing them to her.

Knowing full well that they will go to her late wife.

A kind understanding that she cares for the woman that Yasha loved so much and wants to honor the memory of her because she loves Yasha so much.

I really love that. Too often people characters come across has having to compete with the late wife, see Swarla. But here, Beau simply makes room for Zuala. Accepts that she will always be part of their lives. And just because she came first and was loved by Yasha doesn’t diminish or take away from what they have now.

I really love this couple!
