Superhero Sunday – Upcoming

Welcome back to another fabulous Superhero Sunday!

I’m excited for the upcoming months of new comic arrivals. Later on this month, we’re going to get Greg Rucka’s latest and (hopefully) greatest run of Batwoman.

I mean, if the artwork is anything to go by this comic should be f*cking stunning!

The artist DaNi truly outdid herself and I simply cannot wait to read the very first issue which will be dropping on March 11th, 2026. You better believe I’ll be breaking down my local comic bookstore that very day for a copy. Maybe two.

I’m seriously hoping this is the start of a long running series and I’ll have a framed copy of number one that will just sit and gather value. Regardless, it will hang on my wall in a place of honor for me even if it does not increase in value.

I will definitely be doing a follow-up on a Superhero Sunday to give you my thoughts on the first issue!

In other news!

DC Comics and Marvel Comics are teaming up – Superman and Spider-Man this spring!

I am so unbelievably hyped for this to come out. I only recently discovered this team-up in a recent trip to the comic bookstore where I saw the free preview talking about it.

To be honest, I thought I was seeing things when I saw these two sharing a cover together.

For the first time since – I believe – 1981, two of the greatest heroes will share pages once more.

So excited.

Superman is my all-time favorite hero, but Spider-Man is definitely next on the list. These characters have both inspired me and provided hope and strength during some of the toughest moments in my life. Their stories have always helped me find hope and the strength within myself and I’m so unbelievably excited to see them join forces.

Which means, I’ll be first in line when their issue drops in March. On the 25th. From what I can glean so far, DC will drop an issue and then Marvel will drop their one-shot the following month. As of writing this, it has no release date that I could find.

Regardless, I am so excited to see Superman and Spider-Man taking on Brainiac and Doctor Octopus.

I’m just picturing their faces when confronted with these odd villains that don’t quite line up with what either have faced before. It should be a delight.

Apparently, there may also be their original team-ups coming out in reprints, so I’ll be sure to grab those as well.

Once I do, I’ll be sure to share my reaction on Superhero Sunday!

Last, but most certainly not least, we have The Phantom!

To my extreme sadness, the first run of The Phantom ended after five issues as it was only a mini-series. However, to my absolute delight, they have another mini-series coming out from the looks of it.

And my freaking goodness, I’m excited about this as well.

It’s good to be a comic fan sometimes.

Other times, well I want to throw things at people. Looking at you Marvel. You know why. You know.

Mad Cave Comics is releasing a series about The Phantom taking on the Skyband and I’m so excited to see how they’re going to do this.

Honestly, so far, I’m wildly more impressed with the cohesive covers. These two look like they’re for the same comic, in the similar art style, just each telling a different piece of the same story. I love that.

The covers in the first mini-series felt very disjointed at times and I’m excited to see that there is a more coherent set of variants this time.

Also, on the second cover – please be Sala. Please be Sala.

I do not know if Sala was original to the comics or book series. I just cannot remember. But Sala was in the movie from 1996 and turned into an anti-hero that was just downright awesome. For all the screen time Catherine Zeta-Jones had for the character’s depth and growth, she knocked it out of the park making me love her even as a kid.

So I so want this to be a version of Sala because I think Mad Cave will do her justice.

The story from the first series was excellent and if you’re a fan of The Phantom, comics, or really good storytelling in your comics, be sure to check out the first mini-series! I cannot recommend it enough, nor can I wait until the next one comes out April 22nd, 2026.

I will most certainly be adding it to a Superhero Sunday review in the future so stick around to see it!

Alright, loyal readers, tell me what comics you’re most excited about dropping this year!
