Archie is leading the rebels which appear to be being slaughtered in large numbers. I’m surprised they’ve survived this long.

Vox Machina launches a scheme to save Archie and are defeated by a freaking door.

I know this is a key point in the campaign when they are felled by a door they simply cannot get through, and I love that it made it to screen. I also love Vax insisting that blasted door was cursed because he was able to pick another lock just fine.

Clearly, this is before he achieved reliable skill which I’ve seen Nott/Veth use many times toward the middle and end of Campaign Two in which she literally could not roll below a certain number. Which probably would have been helpful for this door but made the scene far less delightful.

I love that those jokes and moments are kept within the show.

It’s fun for those who didn’t watch the campaign. However, it’s also clear it’s based on a campaign because dice rolls alter the outcomes. You never know what might happen next.

Which is very real to life.

No one knows what awaits around the corner.

Like say, one of your friends smoking and murdering a dude in cold blood.

Yep, that happened.

He also pointed a gun at Vax.

Which I’m surprised he lived to talk about because Vax doesn’t seem like he’s interested in asking questions when someone points a weapon at him. Maybe it was because he knows Percy, he did still threaten him not to do that again.

Or risk the mission.

The name of the baddie who helped the Briarwoods disappeared from the gun when Percy killed him which I can’t help but think has some importance. After all, animation is hard work. Why would they show something that’s meaningless?

Everything appears for a reason.

So what sort of deal did Percy strike to get his revenge?

Or his gun?

Like everything appears to be connected to the gun, the smoke, and his weird mask.

Did he trade his soul for revenge? But how did he know this would come up? It didn’t appear he wanted anything to do with Whitestone before his past came barging into his present.

Until he saw the Briarwoods at dinner, did he intend to return there and kill everyone?

I mean, he sort of mentions he was looking forward to killing these people and that this one was the lowest on his list. Still there. But not one of the most important ones to him.

Maybe there was a part of Percy that wanted to go back one day and seek his revenge.

And opportunity knocked.

Especially to return with more firepower than just a gun in his hand with the rest of Vox Machina at his back.

I enjoyed the very foolish raid. How wrong it went and the moment when Percy and Vax collide.

I still think there should be more of a discussion about what the heck is going on with Percy, because I feel like everyone just keeps glossing over it.

Um, this dude smokes without fire whenever he’s really pissed? His eyes turn black? Maybe we should look into this.

I don’t know. I think it merits a few more questions. Just saying.

Also, Cassandra, Percy’s sister is not dead.

Remember her?

The one who was tortured with Percy and shot as they were trying to escape Whitestone? Which led him to believe she had died in the snow then and there?

She did not.

Apparently, she’s living with the Briarwoods in the castle… Which um okay.

That’s a freaking problem.

Percy is overjoyed with the news that he has a living relative, his sister no less. But I – as a viewer – have so many questions.

For starters – can we trust her?

She was standing with the Briarwoods and did not look like she was exactly terrified. However, we know they can control minds but that also leads me to – what do they want with Cassandra?

They’ve already taken control of Whitestone. Why keep her around when they were so murder happy before?

They’re still murder happy, honestly. They killed seven people and dressed them up like Vox Machina to hang from the sun tree as a nice welcome.

Why not Cassandra?

Did she join them?

Meanwhile, in the deals with gods people. Pike is off trying to understand why the Everlight hates her right now. And lo and behold, I was right. It’s an internal struggle from Pike, not Delilah. She didn’t do anything and it’s all in Pike’s head.

Why?

Who knows? Hopefully Pike who can straighten this out and then rush over to Whitestone.

I have this horrible feeling we’re going to be needing a healer sooner rather than later. If the state of Whitestone is anything to go by.

Also, I wonder what her internal struggle is. Most of the clerics I’ve seen thus far, are pretty into their religion and their god. Why is Pike struggling so much to connect?

Does she truly think she’s not worthy enough or something? Which is strange, because Pike needed to be stopped in the battle of the Briarwoods at the castle during the party because she was annoyingly powerful. What does she think she’s missing? Or needs?

It’ll be interesting to see.

Although, I’m stressed about how long it will take since the rest of Vox Machina can’t even take on a door without hurting themselves and I fear the Briarwoods will be more formidable than a door.

Food for thought.

Now, Delilah is unaffected by their arrival, claiming it changes nothing.

But it does.

The title is a literal representation that their arrival is important. It sparks the rebellion. Something that is oh so dangerous to a regime like theirs.

She shouldn’t underestimate this band of crazy hooligans.

Also, Grog found ale. He was happy. Then it blew up per Vex.

I love that Vex is the de facto leader at times, coming up with the plan, and forcing them to work as some sort of team though none of them would ever cop to Vex being the leader. Very amusing.

Keyleth tries to talk to the sun tree which doesn’t do much. Hopefully, she’ll make a friend and they’ll learn something.

Scanlan is Scanlan and nearly dies but manages to escape with a little illusion.

And well, they escaped with the leader of the rebellion. Which is a shocker to me, I honestly thought he was going to die somewhere along the way there. We’ll see how that turns out. Especially since he knows exactly who Percy is and what his return to Whitestone could mean.

A true heir has returned.

Uh oh.
