Day Twenty Five
It’s here! Can you believe it?
Merry Christmas to all who celebrate!
And for the final day, it’s The Santa Clauses!
Now, going into this show I honestly thought it was going to suck. It would completely ruin everything that came before and make me hate a bunch of money hungry people at Disney. I thought I’d come away from this pissed off and ignoring what happens in this series, leaving me with just the three movies.
But I didn’t…
And that’s more alarming than if I hated it.
I’d know what to do with that. Do what I do with everything I hate – ignore it.
Write my own story in my head. Accept that as canon instead.
But I don’t have too…?
What happened here?
Disney went and made a sequel that I don’t really need but doesn’t discount everything that came before and manages to satisfy questions I had from the original three movies.
Like? That never happens with revivals or remakes or whatever other res we’ve got going on lately.
Instead, it answers questions like why did the Santas before suck? How could we forget he needed to get married? Why was it eight years and not an even number? What happened to the previous Santa’s wife and family if he needed to have one?
All those questions rattled through my mind over the years.
And somehow, this slots in perfectly like it was always meant to be there and written by people who care a lot about what happened before. Who watched the movies and loves them like I do and answers the questions while telling a new story.
An interesting one nonetheless because this kids are exactly what I would imagine children raised at the North Pole by Santa would be like.
It’s actually amazing and I’m really thankful for that given my love for the original movies.
