The Most Terrifying Joker Ever!

Bar none!

This is the greatest Joker of all time.

I don’t want any critiques. None. This is the best Joker ever.

How can you possibly argue otherwise? Ever? The man playing this Joker died because of playing this character. It drove a real live person to death. This character actually killed a human being.

There’s no argument.

Jack Nicholson’s portrayal is amazing in and in of itself. It embodies the campy, crazed Joker. But you get the sense that everything he does has a reason.

You’re never sure what the reason is. Kind of like Jack Sparrow. Like a genius idiot.

Then there’s Joaquin Pheonix’s version.

Which everyone is praising is sooo amazing and wonderful and the best portrayal. No. Just no.

He’s pathetic.

He’s a sad clown.

That’s not scary. That’s boring! And dull.

I alternate between wanting to smack him and maybe offer him a hug. Because I’m not entirely convinced that his problems couldn’t be fixed with a hug.

Nope. Just no.

There’s also Jared Leto, who like Brandon Routh, I feel does not get the credit he deserves. Is he the greatest Joker ever? No.

Is he the worst? Also no.

For me, that’s totally Joaquin Pheonix’s version. I’m not afraid of him. I’m not even interested in him as a character. He’s dull. I’d rather watch the version of the Joker from Harley Quinn’s animated series be a suburban dad for two hours. I think it’d be wildly more entertaining.

Actually, no. It was wildly more entertaining.

Jared Leto actually freaks me out in his portrayal. He’s a deranged murderous person. He has my attention when he walks in the room. He gives me some chills.

Do I think he could surpass Heath Ledger? No.

No one can.

Again, the man died. You cannot compete with that, nor should you try. This character should not be allowed to claim anymore people in his name.

However, it makes the portrayal iconic and untouchable in my opinion.

It’s not up for debate.

Anyone else playing Joker is trying for second place as far as I’m concerned.

I mean, let’s talk about the most terrifying Joker in history.

His little movements are insane to me. His lip prosthetics kept sliding out of place, so all the lip licking was him pushing them back into place. But it just added to the level of disturbed and unhinged he felt, because you kept wondering – why is he doing that?

What the hell is wrong with his mouth?

What is he going to do next?

Because there’s no reasoning with him.

He’s just lost.

He wants what he wants. And what he wants is to prove that with enough of a bad day, enough opportunities to be a terrible person, everyone is just one step away from being him. That’s the point of the Joker at his core.

It’s why The Killing Joke is sooo terrible.

He tries to take the most incorruptible cop and corrupt him to prove that anyone can become Joker.

That people acting all high and mighty like they’re so much better than him are wrong. That they could be terrible too.

It’s the point in The Dark Knight Joker wants to make to Batman.

That anyone can be evil or crazy like him.

Will blow up a hospital. Strap grenades to themselves to usurp power. Make a penicil disappear in the most effed up way.

Or you know, keep asking if people want to know how you got your scars, because every single one was worse than the last. Absolutely, terrible.

He was crazy and a quiet crazy so you had to listen really closely to hear him at times.

He dressed like a nurse and wandered through a hospital completely unstopped and then blew it up.

He put a bomb on a boat to prove that a bunch of bad people will do bad things, and normal people will be driven to do something bad to already bad people as their justification. Except they don’t.

People surprise everyone.

Which is interesting, because as they years go by, I’m inclined to believe the Joker. And that the movie is an ideal, not a reality.

Which is sad.

Tells you a lot about the state of the world around us.

Anyway, enough about my sad outlook on the world. Let’s move back to talking about the Joker.

Truly, I think that Heath Ledger’s Joker is the ultimate Joker.

He’s unhinged. Unpredictable. And utterly mysterious. We know nothing about his backstory. He’s just a guy, who once had a bad day or childhood or something that turned him into this sick man.

With a white face, green hair, and bright red lips.

Setting out to scare the world one pencil at a time.

Everything about this version of Joker terrifies me. There’s no redeeming qualities, no saving face, no saving grace, no nothing. I don’t want him near me.

I don’t want him in civilized society. He’s just too much.

He needs to be locked up.

He needs to be kept in a cell or die or something far from other human beings who might want not to have nightmares about this crazy man.

Everything about this Joker is horrifying.

His stories. His walk. His voice. His approach to violence and everyone around him. As Batman gets angry and upset and loses his temper, he remains cool and calm. Unaffected by the outrage or outburst.

It’s positively ridiculous.

Absolutely, terrifying.

He is the only Joker who shakes and scares me to the core as villain.

I will not be taking any opinions other than absolute agreement with this. You can disagree all you like, but please go elsewhere, this article is not for you.

Thank you and good bye. Have a wonderful day.
