Did she just..?
Did she really just murder her son like that?
Without like double checking or anything? Like making sure that she has the right one before she just dumps him in the ocean?
With like all the other dead bodies?
Like holy cow, that’s a lot of boxes just chilling in the ocean.
How was Batman not a little distracted by all the trunks she has dumped in the water? Like how long has Penguin been a mob boss and no one noticed?
Like we were suspicious that she may have been a villain doing some shady stuff with her money on her water casino, but eh. We’ve got bigger problems in Gotham, we’ll worry about her when we can.
Except, she’s buying the police.
And has a bazooka attached to the top of her yacht.
Love that it was in the shape of a giant umbrella, by the way. Excellent little detail there.
Less excellent was how dumb she quickly became as her plans started to unravel because she murdered the wrong kid. Like all that power, hiding under the radar until now, and you blow it because you were too lazy to have someone double check your suspicion before tossing your kid into the watery depths.
That was just a dumb way to write that.
I did not like that part.
You had me with the story.
With Batman investigating shit. With him sneaking into places and making nice with people and observing. Him using the same party line over and over.
Because if you stopped me on the street and told me that Bruce Wayne was Batman, I would not believe you.
Not a little.
He seems dumb and soft and too vain to be Batman who is riddled with substance.
Who can say so much with a look as he rescues people and races off into the night with his kick ass car.
Loved that.
Loved Commissioner Gordan and Barbara. They made the episode for me, just being so done with everyone all the time.
I also loved that Barbara was like there’s no Batman.
Saw him and just full on told everyone that there really is a Batman and he saved my life. Just dropped that into the conversation like it wasn’t big freaking news.
Just like the weather has been good. Little warm. Saw the Batman dude. Totally real. Heard it might rain tomorrow.
Eh.
Like?
Love Barbara and Gordan.
Pull the fire alarm. Run for your lives. Got everyone out. It was a good day. But um… like they think they did a terrible job.
Like honestly, for Gotham that was a fine job.
No one good died. A building fell but it was empty and it was the police station. It wasn’t really useful to Gotham anyway. And you caught the true bad guy.
It was a good day. Take the win people.
But nope, not even Bats is taking the win.
He failed Gotham.
Great, we’re in Arrow now.
Which is just a Batman wannabe type show anyway. Attempting to make itself seem cool by killing people and then acting like that not killing people is the problem.
Any who!
Bats claimed to have failed Gotham because he created a power vacuum without Penguin running the city. Which will lead to a war.
Which will makes things worse.
Worse?
Worse than what?
In Supergirl, some family was rescued by Superman in season two’s opener and they declared they were moving back to Gotham. NO.
If you got out of Gotham, you stay out!
It’s not a nice place. It’s never been a nice place. It’s filled with rich people getting rich by stepping on others’ throats to make their fortune. And if it’s not the rich causing problems, it is the crazy people who keep escaping from Arkham no matter how many times they’re locked away.
Not that Arkham does anything to fix them.
Instead, I think they seek to make them actively more crazy.
In fact, Arkham sent in a therapist that went crazy trying to help the Joker, thus making another villain who is more of an anti-hero in the end. But still.
The amount of chaos, dark, dingy, terrible living conditions, and sheer villains. How can Gotham get worse?
A gang war?
That’ll be the most normal thing to ever happen to Gotham.
Like regular cities have gang wars and issues.
Gotham has crazy shit like the Joker and Scarecrow and Bane just roaming around from time to time. Jeez.
Gotham is in trouble.
Gotham has been in trouble and a desolate place in need of dire help since 1939. Every year, every story, every retelling, it just gets worse.
It actually may not have been so terrible in 1939. It might not have even been named yet. I don’t know Bats history as well as Superman. I’m just saying, as long as I’ve watched comic book stuff and read stuff, I’ve never dreamed of going to Gotham.
Smallville? Sure.
Metropolis? Absolutely.
National City? Happy Harbor? Sure. Why not?
Gotham? You couldn’t pay me enough.
