Giovanna is a bodyguard..?

I’m sorry, what?

I’m not Brazilian, is that a thing? Can you ask police to be personal bodyguards for you? Because, I don’t feel like that’s a thing. That seems weird as hell.

Also, feels super weird to have the awkward discussion with the maid? The older lady, with Maya, Manu? Whatever her name is, about inappropriate or not.

Like, it’s her house.

If she wants to wander around naked, no one can really stop her. As I said, it’s her home.

I mean, if you’re working, you could probably ask she put on some clothes so she’s not naked, but she’s not. She’s like exercising outside.

But like, the whole possibly cheating on her husband thing I get.

If that woman has been there before Maya and saw her doing this to son she appears to view as a son, I’d be concerned too. However, I wouldn’t voice them to the person doing something wrong. That’s not likely to work out in your favor.

Maya would be quicker to have you fired than stop doing whatever she wants. Regardless of what Christopher wants.

I’m pretty when it comes to his wife, he’s not thinking with his brain. Just saying.

No, you should tell Christopher or stay out of it.

It’s not going to end well for you.

Also, Maya that was bold of you to just make out with someone else in your own home. There wasn’t a better place for that kiss? Somewhere people who know you’re married won’t just wander in and potentially tell your husband.

I don’t care what she says, she saw some shit she shouldn’t have. But you frighten her a little.

I get that vibe.

Then, there’s Giovanna.

Um, I’m not sure what to do with her.

Because on the one hand, she seems really serious about her job, and fairly intelligent. And then on the other hand, she’s about as smart as Christopher when it comes to Maya being able to manipulate her.

Because Maya is getting everything she wants.

She wanted Giovanna to break in the pool room. To kiss her.

To give into the tension between them.

Especially in a place of Maya’s power and somewhere so blatant.

Also, I’m not sure if anyone knows what a bodyguard is here. Like did Giovanna show up for five minutes and then leave? Yep, you’re good. I’m out. Good luck should someone try to off you, I’ve got a case to solve.

Which she does.

But how does she do both as she’s pointed out?

Guess we just do each a bit half-assed.

Giovanna complains about Maya, but gives into her. Tries to pull away, but really doesn’t. She claims she’s not entangled her web while knowing all the while that she’s ensnared. For sure.

She’s screwed.

She just won’t admit how screwed. She still thinks she can keep it together. Somehow come out on top of this.

But I don’t think she’s considering that Maya appears to have some plans of her own and I’m not just talking about getting into Giovanna’s pants. She appears to be playing some sort of long game. Hiding something.

I’m not sure what.

But Maya has plans.

And she’s involved her relationship and attraction to Giovanna as part of it, rolling with what life has handed her.

Meanwhile, Giovanna is juggling flaming chainsaws having never juggled before, claiming that she knows what she’s doing.

She doesn’t.

And her best friend knows it. Which is lovely. She’s just waiting for the moment it blows up in her face to say ‘I told you so’ without a hint of remorse.

Ah, best friends.

Then we return to guarding her. We’re at Enterprise and apparently the bodyguard doesn’t need to see Maya home, but Clarisse the secretary…? I’m not sure how that works. Except as a plot device to piss of Maya.

As Christopher hands over the keys to Maya’s car to Giovanna and insists she see Clarisse home.

Someone who I’ve suspected since episode one is attracted to Giovanna.

Something that Maya clearly picks up on.

And honestly, I don’t think there’s much that doesn’t get Giovanna’s attention at times. Also, I think she believes two can play this game and wants to give Maya a taste of her own medicine. Prove that she’s not controlled by her.

I doubt that will go over well.

It doesn’t.

Maya doesn’t hide that she’s angry with Christopher over his decision and the man foolishly thinks she’s jealous of him and the secretary. If only he knew.

Alas, she goes to bed angry.

Later Giovanna goes out with Clarisse on a date. She’s clearly prying for information while also having a good time. Until Clarisse no longer wants to talk and kisses her. Just in time for Maya to see.

Whoops.

Bet that will go down well.

It won’t. I don’t even need the next episode to know shit is going to hit the fan.
