Reacher – Pie

Does the man finally get to eat the peach pie?

Alright, here we go!

Stay with me!

I love how the final fights lined up!

I was so rooting for Teale to do something stupid so Roscoe could shoot him. Thank you for being idiot, Teale.

I don’t think KJ died slowly enough. But I am glad he’s dead. Especially, after that boring ass monologue. I gotta tell you KJ, that animal wasn’t fighting back, and Reacher is.

Not to mention, you apparently killed his brother. So alas, you had to go.

And his taking over the business, killing his father, and having everyone else killed made a lot of sense. He’s unhinged. There was no care of thought process in how he was cleaning things up.

No wonder his father was trying to stop him or sedate him or ship him off. He was getting in the way of a very lucrative business. And now he’s completely messed it all up.

Sheesh. What a disappointing kid you have there Kliner.

How was Picard not dead?

How long did they think they could keep Reacher on a leash? Did they ever really have him on a leash?

Picard’s argument was flawed.

Reacher already shot at you. He was prepared to kill you when he pulled out that gun from the trunk. He already made peace with getting rid of you and dealing with the fallout.

So you’re stupid for thinking you were making an argument. So stupid.

I was only half surprised to see him show up again. I didn’t expect him to make it to the final fight, but I knew he wasn’t dead when he disappeared into the bushes.

For once, he was smart, and took his loss instead of keep trying to win.

I do love how he died though. Smush! Yuck.

I love that Finley was also grossed out. I don’t think we get enough of in story disgust. I can’t imagine he’s ever done something like that before. Yeesh.

I also loved the little argument they had.

Thought you were my friend.

He was your friend, he told you not to go there. But now you’re in his way soooo….

Neagley appearing like an angel sent from heaven.

“You said ‘lucky guess.’” So naturally she assumed Armageddon was happening and hopped right down to Margrave.

Plus Reacher’s causal knowledge that she had arrived.

Loved Racher smushing the other cop. He totally deserved that. And the slow painful, crushing death afterward. He was not a nice man. Finley staring him in the eye.

We’re raiding the locker.

Neagley is a trained sniper.

Finley? Really? You think you should take a shot? I think you should sit down and let the adults handle the situation.

Damn.

Hubble is found.

Does a crayon scare me? No. In your hands Reacher? Undeniably!

Figuring out where Hubble is in three seconds. Grabbing him and heading off to save the family.

No, Reacher knows they’ve got everyone fitted for body bags, he’s not stupid. Unlike the villains here.

Can I just say the Hubbles was a nice highlight?

Neither were trained like the rest of them, but something from Burn Notice always sticks in my brain for moments like these. Michael once said that sometimes men who have never fired anything bigger than a cap gun turn out to have ice in their veins when push comes to shove. While fully trained men, might go running.

He said this in reference to a man standing his ground no matter what in the face of his son’s kidnapper.

When your family or loved ones on the line, you’ll get your shit together.

It doesn’t matter what’s come before. Or how afraid you are.

Hubble and his wife Charlie proved that.

Charlie held her shit together to keep her girls together despite being terrified all this time. When she sees her husband looking for their kids, she directs him. No thought of herself.

She sees her girls screaming for her and her husband dragging them away and tells them to go. Not to worry for her. She put her children first. They’d be safe.

I loved that moment. I loved how she sobbed with relief that her husband had them and was getting them out.

Even if she died, she could die happy knowing they were safe.

Then there’s her husband.

He rushes in. Despite how much you could tell he wanted to be there for his wife as well, he put his kids first. She told him where they were and he rushed in.

He wastes no time trying to get them loose. Only for someone to come to the door.

He screams, he freaks, but he grabs the gun and fires perfectly repeatedly and takes the threats out.

Unlike the cop in another episode who lost his life because he hesitated, Hubble doesn’t.

He couldn’t stand up for himself in prison.

But his daughters were counting on him. Nothing else mattered. I love that.

I do.

He escapes and tucks them away. His wife is freed and races out to join her family and they’re all so relieved to be together again. It’s palpable.

I love these actors before this show and I love them even more now. That scene was a favorite of mine.

Then there’s Neagley, calmly and cooly taking people out left and right. Even saving Reacher.

Escaping the flaming building and insisting Reacher will be fine because he’s Reacher.

My goodness, there are so many things I love about this finale. It was sooooo gooooood!!!!

Reacher even got his pie in the end.

Finley is headed back to Boston.

Roscoe is going to clean-up Margrave.

The Clark Bar was cute.

I didn’t need more romance though. I didn’t.

I loved that Reacher said he’s had better pie. After all the effort to get the pie in the first place, it’s so fitting.

Then… Well, then Reacher is off. To the next place. To the next set of problems.

Wonder what his future will hold for him now.

Guess I’ll find out in season two!
