Luiza is still going to therapy.
I don’t think I’ve mentioned it this season, but I love that it’s included, and shown to be so important to the story.
We get to Luiza working on her issues without Valentina.
Because Valentina can’t be everything for her wife, it’s healthy to get someone else to help you. I love that for Luiza.
I love that she found this note that clearly upset her and it’s revealed at the end what it says, so she brings it to her therapist for help. She shows it to her, and makes an active choice to help herself work through the issues.
It’s such an important thing.
Therapy only works if you put in the effort to make it work.
I love to see Luiza putting in the effort and getting better.
Her anxiety is getting better. We’re seeing her get lighter and lighter as she copes with the loss of her child. Copes with unresolved issues with depression following having Leo.
With such severe depression, she couldn’t bring herself to tell Valentina about it.
It made me wonder if she ever dealt with it.
Or if her brain, choosing to erase ten years of her life, and give it back bit by bit, was trying to help her cope. Her brain forced her to deal with the trauma and depression.
There are so many wonderful things about this storyline.
It’s about problems occurring in a healthy relationship.
It doesn’t mean they don’t love each other. Life is hard. Things happen. And it’s important to deal with them.
As Valentina pointed out, there have been ups and downs. She’s not blind to things.
She knows Luiza suffered. Maybe not the complete extent. But enough to understand why it was so huge Luiza got pregnant again. She was willing to put herself through Hell to give them what they wanted.
It shows a lot of love between them.
It also shows how easily it could slip into unhealthy habits.
But they choose to do better. To be there. To help each other.
I love this storyline. It’s every bit as messy as real life. As two people, getting up and choosing to make it work between them every day.
Overall, not much happens here.
We get Luiza in therapy and Valentina revealing the note to the audience and discovering the extent of her wife’s depression. It’ll be interesting to see how it’s handled now that Valentina knows.
But in the middle, there are simply light-hearted moments.
Igor and his daughter, which is cute. But I don’t need it per say.
The soccer match, where Luiza is reintroduced to a past time of the friends, but clearly never cared about futbol (sorry) before Valentina. The looks of betrayal.
Luiza cooking dinner.
Valentina coming home and being able to enjoy her family.
Luiza waking up without Valentina in bed with her. Only to go downstairs and discover she’s raiding the kitchen for tacos. Which is adorable. There’s always one in the couple eating a full blown meal in the middle of the night.
The fact that she was just eating right in the fridge was so much better than I could have imagined. It was so human.
Luiza scaring her wife.
I saw a comedian once say, that being married is great because you’re always around someone who you can scare when you’re bored.
Yep, totally.
But! But my favorite part was the whipped cream.
Valentina and Leo collecting it from the fridge. Luiza actually being awake the entire time. Leo taking off and leaving Valentina to take all the blame. Valentina attempting to worm her way out of that one, while Luiza didn’t buy a word coming out of her mouth.
I need more scenes like this on TV and with couples who have been together.
I love when they just have fun with each other.
A silly prank. Laughing at each other. Spooking each other.
Not everything is dramatic, soul touching conversations. Yes, they have their place, but the easy moments of being in love are amazing too! And I want to see them more!
That being said, I loved the scene in the bedroom.
Luiza wondering if her wife misses the way she was before only for Valentina to reveal she’s still her wife. She fell in love with the younger Luiza and they grew together. They’re just doing that again.
Valentina explaining it wasn’t easy, but is honored to still be in her wife’s life is all that matters. That was swoon-worthy.
Luiza apologizing for hurting her wife and declaring she’s her person was a huge step for them.
I loved the entire scene. Especially Valentina getting to voice how hard it was for her without backlash.
I love this series. I never want it to end. Please don’t let it end!
