Did we just meet Lex Luthor?
Did Lois just punch his lights out?
Eh, Ivo is not looking so good?
Did Lois just figure out who Clark is in like three episodes???
I probably should have led with that last one. But I am actually curious if that was supposed to be Lex Luthor.
If so, Lois don’t worry about punching him even though his life is hard. (Loved that line.) He’s going to make your life so difficult I’m sure you’ll want to punch him again.
Okay, back to the reveal.
I loved that she figured it out.
We don’t have enough of Lois Lane putting all the pieces together.
And the fact that she put the pieces together using the piece Clark was trying to hide but was so smitten over the girl forgot he left in his pocket was perfect. A great choice.
Such a great choice I had to watch the ending twice.
I honestly didn’t believe my eyes at first.
Did they?
Did she?
She figured it out?
I suspected that Lois and Jimmy might find out because they’re clearly at the ship in the opening scenes, but I thought Clark would tell them. I was pleasantly surprised by the choice to have Lois put it all together.
However, I would have enjoyed it all the same if Clark had the courage to tell her earlier in the episode!
When he started to tell her, I was surprised, and then overjoyed.
This show is not holding back.
It’s twisting the origin story and making it it’s own while holding true to the characters. But it still leaves so much room for so much more story.
Like with Lois and her father.
That Lex is nothing more than an assitant.
Mashing Ivo and Parasite into one villain is sure to come back and bite us in the butt.
Clark, Lois, and Jimmy are just interns.
Jimmy feeling left out.
There are so many threats they’re carefully weaving to set the stage while keeping the current moment fresh and interesting.
I’m really enjoying this.
Even the commentary on rich society jerks with Superman refusing to supply him with more power was perfect. A subtle yet wonderful example of what Superman does.
He’s more than powers when it comes to taking down foes.
This show truly captures the essence of Superman.
The essence of Lois.
The essence of Jimmy.
One thing I would like to see is a bit more focus on Jimmy.
So far, he’s felt more like a third wheel and a bit left out with the two of them flirting. I want to see him get more involved and dive deeper into him.
On the other hand all the interactions with Lois and Clark have been amazing.
I love that they clicked right off the bat and are trying to figure out a romance.
Both of them wondering if this was a first date was funny. Even more funny that Lois found his obsessiveness over a story attractive. I love that this show captures what draws Lois and Clark together.
It’s not just about looks or powers.
Its about them.
They both have good hearts.
They want to save the world.
Tell the truth.
Help people.
Write about what matters.
In this version Clark didn’t set out to be a superhero to save the world. He set out to be a reporter like Lois to save the world. And I think that’s important.
It’s a basic ground for them to build their relationship on.
And I can’t wait to see how it develops.
