Marvel has just dropped a gameplay video for the Spider-Man 2 coming this fall exclusively to PlayStation 5!

Venom!

Evil Peter!

Kraven the Hunter!

The Lizard!

Harry is still dying and Peter is trying to save him!

This 12-minute video revealed so much and so little all at the same time!

Which is fitting, given that I am excited and stupidly nervous about this video game! The first one was so good that I’m afraid this one won’t live up to the expectations.

Anyone else with me?

However, this little reveal does fill me with a bit of hope.

Although, I would have liked to see Mary Jane in it as well.

The things we did get dropped were juicy enough.

Harry is still alive somewhere, but not for long apparently. Peter is desperately trying to save his life and needs Dr. Connors’ help. Except Dr. Curt Connors has been transformed into a giant lizard, bent on eating a lot of fish.

I’m not sure what was up with the fish eating. Is that comic thing?

Either way, it amused me.

In the process of trying to stop the Lizard and get back the good doctor, Peter is struggling with Venom, and is losing himself.

Aside from all the cool action and the wonderful gameplay, what attracted me to the game was the level of detail and care put into it.

It felt like a fan’s dream come true.

So, to see all those little details carefully crafted in once more, makes me feel more positive about this game living up to the hype.

Such as the care and detail to Peter’s slow decent.

He’s not quite himself, but not so far away people are overly worried.

He’s rough with the people he saves, he’s not making quips, and he’s being short with people. While all this could be attributed to his best friend dying, it makes people worry over him.

But…

Not to the point where we’re staging interventions yet. Yet.

Miles knows something is wrong with his mentor and friend, but isn’t sure what.

I can’t wait to see how that plays out.

Also, was that Aunt May’s turned Peter and MJ’s home we saw at the beginning? Are they living together? I need details on that too! Please!

All in all, this game looks like it’s going to be fun to play! I hope the storyline and the characters live up to what’s come before!
