In the spirit of spreading the love, I said I would share happy stories, and although this might be short it’s a good one!
About a week or so ago I ended up with a flat tire.
To denote how awful that day was, not only was there a flat tire but things got way worse. First there was a flat tire. Upon trying to change the flat tire both jacks broke. Unable to fix them we used a smaller jack that’s beyond annoying. To top this off, I had a job interview to go to.
Heading to the job interview the spare tire went flat.
If there are any mathematicians out there please tell me the odds of that.
Once we pulled over with the second flat tire, we were on a little side street. My dad and I got out of the car to see the tire.
We weren’t out of the car for more then a minute when two teenage boys came over and offered to help change the tire. They were super polite, kind young men who wanted to help.
It was sweet.
Unfortunately, we told them this was the spare tire. To which they responded by saying that sucked. They then proceeded to offer us a skateboard for the wheel or to take us for a ride on them.
Far too often I’ve seen people, grown adults just not care.
Here were two teenage boys offering assistance to a couple of strangers in need. To them and to their parents you’re good people!
They hung out for a few minutes with us, but ultimately there was nothing they could do to help. Although, they clearly felt bad about not being of much use, but it wasn’t the point. And if you two ever stumble across this, the offer itself was more then enough help.
Not to mention, it left a lingering impression I won’t soon forget. Kindness goes a long way.
Read on and spread the love!
