Happy National Pets Day!

Hey there everyone!

In honor of National Pets Day and my own little furry baby I wanted to make a quick post today.

Stay with me, through this little post. I plan to post the first in my series called The Wynonna Chronicles soon and this is a little sneak preview here.

I brought home my little one in July of 2017 and she’s the best thing I’ve ever done. She’s livened up my house, brightened my family’s days, and mine most of all. She never really leaves my side, she’s overjoyed when I come home, and she’s got such a huge personality!

Are you talking about me?

Yes, Wynonna. I am. I’m talking about how much I’ve enjoyed having you around these last months.

Oh.

Why?

Do I get to talk?

You already are. I’m writing what you’re saying so everyone can see.

Whose everyone?

The other people on the internet who look at my website.

Hi people. I’m Wynonna. I’m going to be a year old soon.

Next month.

What happens when I turn a year old?

Not much. You get to stop eating kitten food.

What do you mean? I don’t get to eat anymore?

Uh, that’s not what I meant.

But you said!

No, no, no. You’ll get to eat regular cat food now. No more of the controlled diet to help you grow.

But what about my tender chicken?!

You’ll still get to eat tender chicken. Don’t worry. I’m not going to let you starve. Would I do that?

That’s not a question you stop and think over, little one.

No, you wouldn’t. Cause you love me. She’s a good Mommy. Except she gets mad when I use my scratching post.

That’s because you claw my chair. Not the scratching post.

No, I don’t.

Yes, you do.

Nope. Not me.

Ha. I’m looking at the claw marks.

Those were already there.

No, they weren’t.

Those were from the other cats. The ones you had before me.

Nice try. But I didn’t have this chair when we had those cats.

Oh. Oops. Sorry Mommy. I love you.

Don’t do it again.

Aw Mommy, I love you. But you and I both know, that isn’t going to happen.

I had to try.

Are you still writing this to the people? Won’t they be bored reading it?

I hope not.

Hi again people! I’m Wynonna McDonald. I hope you like this. My Mommy has been writing these up for a while to post them. I try to help, but I’m not very good at the typing thing. Mommy’s better.

When you don’t walk on the keyboard, that is.

I just want to help.

Helping would be sitting on my lap or on the desk not the computer itself.

Where’s the fun in that?

I’m sorry for spoiling all your fun.

You’re good at that.

On that note, why don’t we say goodbye and let the people get back to their lives?

Bye, bye people! See you next time.

Bye!

Wait!

What?

Is that the picture you’re using?

Yes.

No.

It’s cute.

No. No, it’s not. I look silly, Mama.

You look cute!

Mommy.

What? It’s my job to embarrass you. Call it parental privilege. Where are you going?

To claw your chair.

Wynonna, don’t.

Take the photo down! Delete it!

Not gonna happen, little one.

Poor chair, never stood a chance.

On that note, I have to stop my kitten! Bye!

No, my kitten does not talk to me. I swear.

Wynonna has a personality and attitude of a human being rather then a cat. She gets mad and angry, seeks out vengeance on those who have wronged her. She’s the most curious cat I have ever seen. Wants to be involved in everything I do. All. The. Time.

Today, I was making pancakes and she had to be right there next to me the whole time. My Dad was playing with her and when he won she came over to meow at me like ‘Papa, is picking on me, make him stop.’ I asked my Dad how the batter looked when I was mixing it and she meowed in answer.

Wynonna is the cutest, sweetest, craziest kitten I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. She is playful, fun, and full of energy all the time. She’s a handful but I wouldn’t change a thing about her.

I wouldn’t trade her for anything in the world. I have heard so many stories from friends lately of lost pets in one form or another. After each and every one I hug my little girl out of sheer happiness and enjoyment to have her in my life.

Pets are the best thing in the world for everyone. They help relieve stress and other health conditions. They offer companionship, love, and affection asking only the same in return. Whatever your personal favorite pet is, be grateful for them in your lives.

Over the years I’ve heard a few sayings about pets I would like to share:

Stop whatever you’re doing and give your pet love, an extra rub, more food, more playtime, just a small piece of your day to show you care. Your lives are filled with bills, work, relationships, families, among others, your pet most likely only has you. They just want to be loved and cared for. You’re all the have, so don’t take stress out on them. Be mindful that your little one does not know what happened at work or what bothers you. Their lives are small, all about you.

Secondly, this goes hand and hand with the first. Your life will span many years. Chances are your pets may not. Your life will carry on after they are gone. Make their life as great as you can. Filled with as much love as you can. Let them know they are never alone. They are always loved.

Maybe they’re not so much sayings as good advice but I hope you listen because I try to every day. I had a hugely stressful job not too long ago and the last thing I ever wanted was to put any of it on my kitten. She’s just a small animal in my care. She doesn’t know what’s wrong. She just wants to play with me, be petted, and lay down with me at the end of the day in my chair and be loved.

In the grand scheme, she’s not asking for a lot.
